ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Terry Martin grew up in Melbourne and Swan Hill on the Murray River. At the age of twenty, he left Australia
to live and travel in many countries. A cornucopia of careers
included sailing around the Pacific, mining exploration in Papua New Guinea, touring the USA
with the Australian Ballet, a spell as stage manager of the Royal Ballet
Company at London's Covent Garden and ski patrolling in
Austria.
Terry returned to Australia thirteen years later, and a chance experience introduced him to the
world of woodturning. As soon as he was able to do so, he devoted himself full time to the
profession. His work is now exhibited and sold in Australia
and around the world.
Terry lives with his family in a tree-covered suburb of Brisbane, where he
continues to practise and write about the art of woodturning.
