Intergrain UVC & DWD
The history of clear and transparent finishes is littered with failures.
UVC and DWD are the result of long term commitment to offer the
Australian comsumer the very best timber finishes that modern technology can
offer to solve the age old problem of maintaining the natural appearance of
exterior timber with minimum maintenance.
Ten years market exposure in all extremes of the Australian climate and
intensive testing at the Allunga Exposure Laboratory, North Queensland, have
clearly shown the superiority of UVC and DWD against competitive products
in long term durability, timber protection and appearance.
THE INTERGRAIN UVC and DWD BUYER ADVANTAGE CHECK LIST:
- Australia's top selling exterior transparent water-based timber finishes.
- Longer lasting protection proven during 10 years on the Australian market
in all extremes of climate and in extensive testing against
competitive products at Allunga Exposure Laboratory, North Queensland.
- 100% Australian owned.
- Researched, developed and manufactured in Australia for Australia's
harsh climatic conditions.
- Benchmark performance, the products against which the others are
compared.
- New 2 coat* UVC and DWD, provide the proven protection and beauty of
Intergrain with one less coat which represents a saving of 33% on labour/time
and money.
- Australia's most experienced manufacturer of transparent water-based
xterior timber finishes.
- A total commitment to quality, technical innovation and ongoing research
and product improvement.
- Greater transparency than many competitive finishes.
- Unlike many oil-based finishes UVC & DWD will not blacken with mould and
oxidation.
- Suitable for all timber species including hardwoods and softwoods.
Penetrating oil-type finishes are often unable to penetrate dense or
resinous Australian timbers such as Cypress Pine, Jarrah, Spotted Gum etc.
resulting in poor protection and premature fading and checking of the timber.
- Greater UV protection - the film of UVC and DWD filters out damaging UV
rays before they reach the timber surface. With penetrating oil-type
finishes there is no effective barrier to prevent the UV rays reaching and
degrading the timber surface.
- Environmentally friendly and safe to handle. Low VOC, water clean up.
- Based on an advanced partially UV curing acrylic polymer with built in
lifetime flexibility to accommodate fluctuations in timber dimensions due to
varying moisture content.
By comparison oil-based finishes oxidise, harden and embrittle with age.
- Moisture vapour permeable, can be painted over damp timber.
- Active anti-fungal and algal protection.
- Tintable to a range of timber colours.
- No sanding required between coats.
- Specified for many prestigous projects including The Laguna Quays
Resort, Proserpine, Queensland, The Marina Mirage,
Gold Coast, and The Kingfisher Resort, Fraser Island.
- Used and recommended by Logan Cypress, millers and producers of
Cypress timber products, Ceda-Clad Homes, Queenland,
Pineline Homes, South Australia, Frenchpine Cottages, Tasmania,
Storybook Cottages, Victoria, Early Settlers Cottages,
