Likewise the Wheelwright and Blacksmith Shops tell the tale of their devotion to hard work and to the satisfaction which it brought. In the early days things had to be done by personal effort; but pride in workmanship shone in every article made. Resourcefulness is shown in the many tools and the wide variety of equipment, such as a drill and lathe which were hand-made on the premises.
Everything required for carrying on this particular trade are at hand, just as used by the Scholz family for a hundred years or more.
The restoration of the three buildings and their contents is continuing with the aim of bringing back the beauty of each article as well as preserving the memory of those hard-working craftsmen and the times in which they lived.

"The light shines on, undimmed. Lit in another century, it glows warmly,
in us as an appreciation of those who blazed the trail,
a vivid lasting memory of their daily lives and gratitude to them for the
legacy which they have left us.
"While our race persists in this country (and may that be forever) we shall
continue to maintain that light, revealing the fact that whatever we do,
we still owe our ancestors recognition of the fact that they set our
faltering steps on the road to nationhood"
